Cross Body Flap Bag - Living in the moment
The Flap Bag design of my "Living in the moment" cross body bag was born over 50 years ago. The architecture of the bag offers a number of good uses. It can be used to carry all those day to day things tourists need - guides, maps, identity docs, a tablet, mobile phone, re-embarkation boarding papers and so on and so on. Just as a pilot needed a large rectangular bag to hold flight papers so we tourists can benefit a cross body rectangular bag with a secure flap to hold what we need to direct us on our excursions.
Another use is for creative people – writers, artists, designers, journal keepers, makers of beautiful things, we all need a bag to house our special bits and pieces – coloured pens, brushes, paint boxes, sketch pads, tablet, mobile phone and so on with hands free to carry easels and so on. Even for children the bag can serve as a useful place to keep similar of things for those endless journeys.
And lastly, empty out all the papers and detach the body strap in the evening and you have a very pretty version of what was first created by an eminent designer as an evening bag.
It is made from a waterproof synthetic canvass feel material as you would expect of an artist, on a rigid structure with a leather handle. Across the back of the bag is a tight open pocket suitable for the currently in-use paper. The cream lined interior has two open pockets plus a single zip pocket. The broad (1.25”) cross body strap (which has a drop of 28” or 70 cm from the shoulder - max) is easily adjustable and detachable. Its dimensions are 11" (L 27 cm) x 4" (W 10.5 cm) x 8" (H 20 cm) and it weighs 16 Oz or 460 gm.
